I used to be a nice dude. I used to do favors for people all the time. Good idea? Hell no! You know what I got for being nice to everyone? Everyone only talked to me when they needed something. Certain people here have calld me 2 times this whole year, once to drive them to a party (which I was not invited to), and another to drive me to an internship. Now I've developed this "fuck you" attitude. If you don't talk to me, I don't do things for you. And here's the kicker: all of a sudden, I'm the asshole for saying no! It's interesting how we define "nice" as being convenient for us. We'll say someone is nice if they are of value to us, and constantly deliver. They are "nice" if they drive us to Publix, they are "nice" if they sit here and listen to our problems. Something people always forget to factor in is that the whole world doesn't revolve around them. You can't just expect someone to keep doing things for you without doing anything in return. You cry to them all the time, yet when they need a friends, you're not there. And then they're the asshole for telling you to go fuck yourself next time you ask them for help?

This all relates to me in that I go out of my way to notice things. If someone's upset, I notice. I go over and talk. If they wanna be left alone, I leave them alone, but at least I show that I noticed and that I care. Guess what no one does to me! So why the fuck am I going out of my way to care for people when no one gives a shit about me? and "because it's nice" doesn't work here... that's something I'ver grown out of. Being nice to everyone doesn't do anything for you in the real world, it just shows everyone a sign that says "Exploit Me!". The whole concept of being nice to people and they will be nice to you in return seems to hold no ground outside of grade school.

So here's the deal. I'm raping in 3 classes, and tanking in 2. Raping as in I have like 100%, and tanking as in I have like a C. Sweet deal.

And my programming assignment was due at 11:59 2/20. Time I finished writing it: 11:57. Time of submission: 11:58. Grade on assignment: 30/30. I'm pro.

I'm raping in Calc 3, programming, and intermediate microecon. I'm tanking in Discrete Structures (due to a severe miscalculation in how much homework is worth... I thought it was worth 5% so I didn't do it, and after checking the syllabus found it was worth 20%) and Differential Equations. I had to solve for coefficients A and B, and everything cancelled out and I got 0=0. On 3/5 problems on the test. Lawltacular!

Discrete Structures is a really gay course. Don't ask me what a Discrete Structure is, after being in the course for 2 months I still have no idea. Maybe I would if I went to class...

So I'm going to bitch about the homework. which is COMPLETELY unrelated to the class. My friend that goes to class verifies this, and the lectures he puts online do as well. For example, in class we are doing functions. Earlier we were doing sets. (AUB,A(intersection)B, that kinda shit).
Now in class, this is what he said about inverse functions. f^-1 is the inverse of y=f(x), such that x=f(y). f(f^-1(x)) = x and f^-1(f(x)) = x.

Here was a homework problem.

Let f(x) be a function from A to B, and let S and T be subsets of B. Show that:
a) f^1(S U T) = f^-1(S) U f^-1(T)
b) f^-1(S(intersection)T) = f^-1(S) (intersection) f^-1(T)

wtf? How the FUCK am I supposed to go about proving that? After extensive google searching I found a good proof, but how am I supposed to come up with this crap on my own?

The teacher also makes shit up. He wanted to prove that the series from 0 to n of k^3 = n^2(n+1)^2/6 (or whatever it's supposed to equal). He started off his proof by saying "Let's find the series from 0 to n of ( (k+1)^4 - (k-1)^4 ). Someone asked him why he would choose to prove the k^3 identity by doing that, his answer was "I went to high school". ???? What the hell does that mean? Thanks a whole fucking lot. It got worse when he arbitrarily set the second series equal to (n+1)^4 + n^4 - 1. where the flying fuck did that come from? What he then did was use binomial expansion to expand (k+1)^4 - (k-1)^4 and set it equal to (n+1)^4 + n^4 - 1. What? Where the hell did you get that? Where did that come from? DOES NOT FOLLOW.

(I went to class by the way).

It seems no one I know uses this anymore, and honestly given what I have to say it's probably better that way. I've been thinking a lot recently, and I'm pretty much at the point where I just want to cut off all connections with almost everyone from Atlantic. They're honestly just arrogant cockfaces. There is really a select few that I will keep in touch with, and they all go to FSU. Honestly, I'm not going to be friends with anyone who doesn't want to be friends with me. Not answering my phone calls? Not ever calling me unless you want me to drive you somewhere? Acting like we're best friends when I accidentally run into you on the street? Fuck you! I've honestly already met people to replace pretty much everyone from ATL. I had a good, fun 4 years, but no one I met at Atlantic really deserves any more of my time. I guess that that's the trade-off for going to an accelerated learning type program. People develop such a superiority complex.

It's kind of the same as middle school. After middle school I wanted to flush out everyone I knew in middle school and meet new people in high school. That worked out fine for me, so why not do that now? I hated everyone in middle school, and I hated everyone in high school. Now I'll meet a group of people to hang out with for 4 more years, before I ditch their asses to go to grad school. I've kinda realized that realistically, I'm not even going to end up living anywhere near anyone I know. Probably going to move to New York or something like that (jobs depending). At the end of the day, all that "friends" really are are just temporary people to hang out with at a given time. Sooo fuck you guys =D!

I saw American History X yesterday. Very good movie, but disturbing and sad. Well done, I'd recommend it to anyone. I also saw Rock 'n Rolla. It was also good, but I don't think watching it after American History X was a very good idea. American History X was a deep movie, and Rock 'n Rolla is just a cool Guy Ritchie movie. I also could not really follow any of the characters, they all looked the same.

I also watched the Superbowl tonight. I wanted the Cardinals to win, but I don't really care that much. I thought it was interesting that there were over 9000 penalties in the game. The commercials also sucked dick. Looking at quarterbacks like Kurt Warner and Ben Roethsladkldfkkjdfkslekjflksjburger, it makes me wonder why everyone thinks Timmy Tebow will be such a bad NFL quarterback. Tebow has the arm and the accuracy. He's also big enough to not fail epically like Chris Leak. I mean, give him 3 years in the NFL and he'll be just as capable as Ben Roethalksdlfjdkflaskjdakejglkmalkjleburger. It's really interesting how everyone thinks Sam Bradford's a god and Tebow sucks, even though Tebow has much better statistics for long passes, 3rd down conversions, and he's reliable. Watching Kurt Warner play today reminded me of watching Sam Bradford. He's good and makes the passes.... except for when it matters.

School-wise, I skip Discrete Structures all the time, and I show up for quizzes in Calc 3. I also have not bought any books for any class, so we'll see how that works out. So far I've gotten 10/10 on the 2 Calc 3 quizzes, and we had a test that I thought was easy, we'll see how well that went. Differential Equations I'm so and so... I do mediocre on the homeworks but I did comparatively well on the last test. Our grades are based on each other, so I got a 48/60 when the class average was a 42. The highest score was a 52, so I did pretty well. Advanced Programming Fundamentals is also going ok, I raped the lab quiz, and got 5/5 on 2/3 pop quizzes. The other pop quiz I missed because I skipped... soo.... fuck. I raped the first Intermediate Micro homework, and we'll see how I do on this test next week. Discrete Structures is actually making me worry a little... I missed a homework and got 47/60 on the other one... not so hot. I thought homework was 5% of our grade, but it's actually 20 O_O. He does give a homework every week, so it's not fatal but... I do need to do them and do well on them. There's also a quiz tomorrow, so we'll see how that one goes. And now I go study. Peace.
» Wow...
Haven't touched this thing in ever so long. I guess I'll just talk about my semester or something.

First semester ended... kinda well... I got an A in Chem 1, Calc 2, Icelandic Sagas... and... a B+ in Stats 1. I got 356/400 when the cutoff for an A was 358, which is incredibly gay. There are 300 different ways I could've gotten an A, but I guess given that I didn't even know what the teacher looks like, so fail on me. In chem I missed 60% of the classes, so lawl at Chem. Calc 2 I had a shitty shitty shitty teacher. The class started with 40 people, only around 10 were left by the end, and they all failed.

I also got really into football over the first semester. Reaaaally into football. Yay for national championship game!

This semester... is kinda going to suck. I have Calc 3, Differential Equations, a programming class, a discrete math class, and intermediate micro. My teachers claim that I should spend a shitload of time studying for each class. We'll see how much I actually have to spend. Still, 17 credits is kind of a lot. And they're 17 real credits, no bullshit liberal arts classes for me.

This semester has really been a huge semester of disappointment as far as people go. First of all, I almost never hang out with ATL people anymore, but that's because they all kinda suck. I'd pretty much rather just sit at home and do dumb shit than hang out with ATL people. I go to FSU quite often, at first because I would hang out with Brian, Jared, Szabo, Juan, and Taylor, but now because my girlfriend goes there. I've also turned out to be disappointed with how a lot of my ex's turned out. Also disappointed in my floor. At first everyone seemed really nice and cool. I hung out with Krista, Kathryne, Moritz, Steven, Samuel, Jonathan, Steph, Kasey, my roommate, and occasionally Sunny. Unfortunately, I kinda don't really like any of them anymore. Krista turned out to be a major tool, so did Kasey. And Jonathan, but that's because he's trying to get into Krista's pants. Moritz, Steven, and my roommate are kind of annoying. Samuel is a total smartass and thinks he knows everything, Steph is always playing soccer, so I never see her. I pretty much hang out with Sunny and Joseph all day nowadays. I would hang out with Jeff and Kathryne more, but they're always doing something else. Oh, and the rest of our floor is dominated by hardcore Christians who have their Christian Campus Crusade meetings on our floor. Our RA's in that group, so he's usually too busy being a good RA for the Christian kids and not really doing anything cool for the floor.

Honestly, I'm surrounded by tools.

A detailed report on my IB exams.

English A1 HL
Score: 4

I completely blew off this exam. I didn't study at all, and I left both exams early. Did decently on my oral, and wrote crappy world lits.

Spanish SL
Score: 6

It seems everyone who took spanish got a 6. The exam was pretty easy, I left half an hour early (along with everyone else), and my orals were good.

Econ SL
Score: 6

We were given 1 hour for paper 1 and 2 hours for paper 2. I finished paper 1 in about 20 minutes and slept for 40, and for paper 2 I left an hour early.

IB Music SL
Score: 5

We were given 2.5 hours for the exam. I finished in 1. I wrote about half as much as everyone else.

IB Math HL
Score: 5

I learned on paper 2 that I know nothing about poissan distributions.

IB Physics HL
Score: 5

I was a little wtf on this. I got a 5 on AP Physics, which is infinitely harder and should've translated to around a 6. But I probably messed up my labs and I also didn't study.

Politics EE
Score: D

Did the whole thing in 1 night.

TOK Essay
Score: C

I thought that was a little strange, given Zapp gave me an A on the one I sent in. They lowered it by 2 letter grades, which is quite a lot.

Total points: 31
Dilpoma: awarded.

Final musings:

IB really was not worth it. Out of all these exams, the only one that does me any good is Music. What do I mean? Well, I end up having a lot of redundant credits. I have 3 english college credits, 3 physics credits, 2 economics credits, 2 math credits, 2 spanish credits. All of these credits, however, test me out of the same class. If i had gone to another school and done AP, I would've taken Calc AB 1 year and BC the next, getting out of Calc 1 and Calc 2 in college. The IB way, I get out of Calc 1 twice. Science-wise, I could've taken out Bio, Chem, and Physics with AP, instead of Physics, Physics, and Physics (all the same physics class of course). UF has gen-ed requirements that include taking bio and chem, so now I have to waste my credits taking classes that are not related to my major at all. At another school, I could've tested out of all of the gen-ed requirements. It may not seem like much, but with the extremely crowded 2 major + 2 minor schedule I'm forcing myself to do, I really need those 2 spare classes. Only Music helps, since it's the only class that tests me out of something new. Exam-wise, IB exams take up 3 weeks and you spend multiple days on 1 exam, compared to the 2-hours-and-you're-done philosophy of AP.

I honestly regret doing IB, since I had to do a bunch of extra crap I didn't really care about and work really hard on some nights just to end up ranked much lower than my other-school counterparts (33rd in my school when the person with the same HPA as me in another school was 8th). The exams did not help me at all for college, rather hurt me by making me waste time taking them instead of their AP counterparts. CAS is bullshit, apparently a mountain hike can be registered as CAS hours if you organize it. The people became too competitive and senior year would spend a week arguing with the administration about a B they received 4 years ago in freshman year. Honestly, everything was tense and ultimately pointless. I would have had a lot more fun, and yet had a lot more success in another high school. Hell, I probably would've gotten into a better college, like University of Chicago or Carnegie Mellon. Going to ATL really didn't give me anything in return, despite everything I gave to it.

Fuck you all.

Oh, and I've been tagged. So.

Once you are tagged you MUST write a blog about your 6 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names.

1. I don't like a lot of people.

2. I thrash in my sleep.

3. I don't like sports.

4. I have a lot pet peeves.

5. I tend to talk really low and quietly when I'm depressed.

6. I call everyone "hun" and "sweetie.

People= Jonathan, Heather, Unjin, Taylor, Vicky, and Kiersten.
» Mao states
States. Hard to say how it was. It was really fun at some times and not so fun at other times. I'm doing this Jonathan style and giving a day-by-day overview.

Thursday:
wake up early
go on bus
say hi to random people
wait for George c. Bling because he's a n00b
leave the school
depression=antisocial=doing nothing butlistening to music
People start watching South Park on Laser's laptop. I join.
Fort Drum=starbucks
bus=South park
Islands of Adventure= a change from my usual crowd
it was fun I guess. But I don't think my group liked me very much.
We made Val go on roller coasters. She really liked the hulk.
We went to the hotel. I was impressed, it was a really nice hotel. Jonathan got switched into our room. fun stuff.
Unpacked, figured out that the stupid remotes can't change input.
no input=no video games.
Went to Sassank's room with Unjin. Felt really unwelcome, so I left. Randomly walked into people's rooms. Watched part of History of the World Part I, good stuff. Some people went to play football. Didn't feel welcome so i didn't go. I was emo and kept to myself and studied.
For the first time people actually noticed I'm not all fun and games. Whatever. Dinner=Pizza on the awesome Mr. Power. Unjin went to sleep, talked with Jonathan and Adam about who we don't like. I had a huge list. I felt (and still do) like an asshole. And I probably am. Watched some rather amusing show about losers who can't have sex because they fail at life. Sleep.

overall thursday wasn't very nice.

Friday:
Wake up feeling a little better I guess. Went to Denny's for breakfast which was kind of cool. Felt like I actually belonged. Then went to get our shirts and tickets and such. Unjin was teaching me to play football. Fun stuff. Went to opening ceremony, took Alpha Apps, failed, took Alpha Individula, failed. Played some more football I think. Went to TGIFridays with Sasank, Unjin, Jeanette, and Brian. This time I didn't get the feeling that they hate me. But they probably still do. More football with girls this time. Shelly hates me so she nailed me in the face. Danielle did too.

Friday was decent. Actually felt accepted.

Saturday:
Wake up too early. I wouldn't get up so Danielle and Jeanette kicked me out of bed. Unjin started talking about boners, Danielle freaked out. Funny. Breakfast. Did pretty decent on Equations and Inequalitions. Played more football, this time with Mr. Will and Mr. Power. Very fun. Lunch. Did all right on Logs and Exponents. Mini-award ceremony. Football. Award ceremony. Everyone went to TGIFridays and left me by myself. So I hung out with people from other schools. Pack up. Jonathan was being emo so I talked to him.

Saturday was ok. Playing football was like the highlight of my day.

Woke up early and once again depression=antisocial=music=sleep. Looked at tests scores and at least I was in the top 100 even on the tests I failed. I was in the top 50 on equations and inequalites. Which sucks. I suck. I felt really inferior. This entire trip I felt really inferior to everyone else.

But it was good fun. Randomly going in and out of people's rooms was fun. Although I really wish the girls were more social. Val was the only one who didn't lock herself in her room.
» no update for a while
hey guys. Haven't updated in a while, but as some of you may have noticed I haven't really been on the net much either. My laziness has reached a new peak, I am now too lazy to even get up and switch on my computer (10:42:42...wierd). At any rate, I got a gamecube and for it I have: Resident Evil 4 (truly a great game), Wind Waker (it's pretty amusing), Metroid Prime (fun), and Super Smash Bros. Melee (great multiplayer). School's been going pretty well, bombed Epstein's test but I don't really care because it's reverseable. Here's my schedule for those of you who give a shit (i.e., none of you)

1. Ap Art History - Stecker
2. Wind Ensemble - Crocco
3. Chemistry I P-IB - Swanson
4. Ap Government/Comparative Economic Systems - Epstein
5. Spanish 3 IB - Bronkie
6. Pre-calculus - Power
7. Ap Literature & Composition - Zacher

and yes I have nothing better to do than write out all the full names. Feeling rather bland and empty, in case anyone cares.
» Time...
Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

You scored as Christianity. Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian.

Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humankind and forgive people's sins.
